E.JEAN CARROLL
My life in 7 pictures

I was raised in this redbrick school house in Indiana.

I've been a cheerleader all my life.

And been crowned quite a bit.

I became a journalist and wrote for ESQUIRE and OUTSIDE, published a bunch of books, and became the first woman to walk from Telefomin in Papua New Guinea, across the Star Mountains to the border of Irian Jaya.

I wrote the "Ask E. Jean" column in ELLE for
27 years before I was fired. It was a gas! I loved
it! I also had the "Ask E. Jean" TV show. Loved that too!

I've had two husbands, 17 dogs, lived 9 lives and now
I'm having a hell of a great time writing for The Atlantic and Vanity Fair.
Wait. I see that is only 6 pictures. So here's my cat,
Vagina T. Fireball wearing her anti-bird-killing collar.

P.S. The school house where I grew up
is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
